MEBANE, NC – September 20,
2010 – Quaker Creek Golf Club – Northern Guilford gets off
with a big win in the Mid State 3A Conference edging Western
Alamance by six strokes. Taylor Penzer the 31st
best junior golfer in the state at this writing lead the
Nighthawks to their first victory of the season with a round
of 39, the second best round of the match. Helping Penzer to
secure this victory as well as a very respectable round of
123 was Tailar Murphy and Elizabeth Ewing with duplicate
rounds of 42.
Six strokes back of the
Nighthawks was Western
Alamance lead by Heather Dockrill
with a score good enough for third place over all.
Dockrill’s 40 was added to by Taylor Ross’s 46 and Katie
Gilliam’s 43 for a team total of 129.
Western Alamance could not
afford to stumble as Williams was right on their tail
finishing with a team totals 131. The closeness of the
scoring in the Mid State 3A Conference looks like this is
the conference to watch this season.
