West Alamance Topples Northern Guilford

STONEVILLE, NC - September 28, 2010 - Deep Springs CC - The Warriors of West Alamance has been chomping at the heels of N. Guilford for the first two matches of this season losing both of the first two matches to N. Guilford by just six strokes. Evidently WA said enough is enough.

At Deep Springs WA took the Nighhawks by eight strokes, 124 to 132. Leading the Lady Warriors was Heather Dockrill with a round of 40. Helping out Dockrill was Taylor Ross with a 41 and Katie Gilliam with a 43.

The Lady Nighthawks usual leaders, Taylor Penzer and Elizabeth Ewing had a tough time at Deep Springs shooting 42 and 46 respectively. N. Guilford's #3 Tailar Murphy was right on her stroke average with a 43.

E. Guilford also rose to the occasion as they finished third at Deep Springs CC. The Lady Wildcats lead by Madison Blythe who won her second medalist honors of this season with a round of 39 carded a team total of 156 which is five strokes under their team stroke average.

The Warriors and Nighthawks are only separated by 1.34 strokes for the season so there is a two horse race going on in the Mid State 3A Conference. - Click here for the full leaderboard.......
