Our single goal is very simple - win the 2A State Championship

SALISBURY, NC - February 16, 2011 - You only need to look at the face of their school mascot to not only see the determination that this team has you can feel it.

Coach Dale Snyder and his team came away from the state last season stunned. They rewrote the record book at Salisbury last season and not just once. This team would set a new record then go out and break that record the next week. Here is what he has to say about this season.

"We are returning all of our top 6, and 9 of our top 10 from last year's runner up team.  Joining the team is freshman Eric Edwards, who has a large amount of junior tournament experience.

Roy Dixon is the lone senior this year.  He returns as the 2 time defending Central

Carolina Conference Champion, the defending Midwest Regional Champion and the 2A State Champion. (Dixon will be attending UNC Greensboro this fall on a golf scholarhsip.)

Alex Nianouris, Troy Beaver, Alex Lee, Clark Alcorn, and Joseph Rusher, all of whom were named to the all conference team return to avenge a disappointing finish at the 2A state championship."

So Salisbury has thrown down the gauntlet in the 2A Men's golf for 2011. Fore warned is fore armed especially if you are the back to back defending 2A State Champs - the North Lincolnton Knights.

With back to back titles Coach Laney has acquired the necessary skills to field a strong group of  golfers. <>
