South Caldwell Claims the first victory of the 2010 Season
GRANITE FALLS, NC – September 14, 2010 – Orchard Hills Golf Club – The Northwestern 3/4A Girls golf season kicked off today with perfect conditions. Though many courses throughout this part of NC have had greens difficulty this season Orchard Hills seemed to be in pretty good shape.

South Caldwell got to notch their club handle first this season with a team scoreof 141. The Caldwell Spartan’s were lead by Rachel Lineback with her two off the pace for medalist 42. Lineback’s wingman was Taylor Cox with a 48.

The medalist honors for the day belongs to Lauren Robertson of Hibriten high school. Robertson came in with a solid round of 40.

Battling it out for second was the Alexander Central Cougars and the Watauga Pioneers. When all the dust had settled both teams came to the scorer’s table with identical scores of 146 each. Kelsie Rhyne led the Cougars and Savanna Wood led the Pioneers.

Bree Keller led the Lady Red Tornadoes of Hickory High in their fourth place finish with a 45.
